Its been a looooong time since Voodoo Motorsport had a decent website, so about a year or two ago we enlisted the help of our lovely friend Stuart (www.sdwm.co.uk) to begin making us a new one. As with everything in its earliest stages there wasn’t a lot of money to throw at it, so Stuart suggested that I get all the content down and give him an idea of how we want it to look and he’ll convert it to inteweb magic for us. Stuart doing the last (and most important) bit was a very good idea as I (Miss Voodoo) crudely set the whole thing out in Word, I know, *cringe*.
For a while this website did the job but we weren’t overwhelmed with it (nothing to do with Stuart’s brilliance) and the need to get content on there and keep it up to date was paramount, and costly. So about three months ago, Stuart suggested that he gets the website onto a host (is that the right thing to say?) that allows us to change the content as and when we please – marvellous I thought, slightly terrified. However, with much patience my interweb guru showed me the ropes after he lovingly updated our website to a much more sophisticated layout and look.
Since the changeover to our new sophis’ website I’ve been adding content and updating like a mad woman, and now it’s FINISHED! *cue happy dance*. I’m not going to lie, website wizardry isn’t really my thang, and there have been witnesses to around four occasions when my brain has visibly melted out of my ears, but I think its been worth it and I have to say I’m pretty proud of it 🙂
So please, if only to praise me and tell me how wonderful I am, do take a look at our new website. Our primary aim has been to create something which really shows what we do on a day to day basis, which is the service & repair, OEM upgrades (specialising in the VAG family) and of course the split rim refurbishment, I hope you think we’ve acheived that. Our secondary aim, although pretty much on a par with the primary, is to create something simple and easy to use. My biggest pet hate on a website is coming across something which is fussy and a pain in the proverbial to use. Another thing which really annoys me is when companies don’t inform you of their prices, we have tried to do this where possible for the time being, but one of our improvements for the future is to try and show prices for our products such as the coilovers aswell, but this needs a fairly easy to use solution sourcing first. I definitely would be admitted to Broadmoor trying to add that content in the same way as I have been doing for the rest of the site!
Of course there will be tweaks and much tinkering along the way, but let us know what you think, any feedback or suggestions are much appreciated and let us know if you feel we have missed anything out. And if you do take a look, thankyou very muchly for your minutes 🙂
Ciao for now,
Miss V x
